Project

The Archaeology of the Uplands project is the initiative of a group of DiSCi researchers who have been working in mountain contexts for years, with the desire to share experiences, discuss methodologies, and plan new research.

The projects in which we are currently involved range from the Alps to the Epirus, via the Apennines, and embrace different chronological periods from prehistoric to Roman times, with work in both stratigraphic excavations and Landscape archaeology.

The Archaeology of the Uplands project officially starts with the Upland Archaeology Workshop (23 and 24 February 2023) with the specific aim to involve researchers who shares our interests.

In the following months we will continue to focus on these topics through specific seminars, excavations and surveys.
