Japan is one of the main focus for East Asian Studies at the University of Bologna and one of the traditional partners for research projects and collaborative activities. Therefore, it is an area of major interest for the Asia Institute.
The "EU-Asia Politics and Market Studies Platform" is a collaborative platform formed by the University of Bologna, Toyo University and Aoyama Gakuin University. In February 2020, the platform organized a Winter School at the Forlì Campus with students from the three universities. On 27 and 28 May 2021, a "Student Conference" was organized to reflect on the future of relations between the European Union and Asia after the pandemic, also providing an overview of the different impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on the university system and students’ lives. The works of the students, who dealt with the impact of the pandemic in the field of International Relations, AI and Higher Education, can be found at this link.
Those who are conducting or who are willing to start a research project on Japan, and would like to work together with the Asia Institute or to give visibility to their projects on this webpage, are kindly invited to send an email to the Contact person for Japan with a short description of their research project.
