The Asia Institute aims at connecting Emilia-Romagna and the Asian continent, involving students, researchers, citizens, and the firms of the region.

The Asia Institute promotes cooperation with Asia on research, training, culture, and business development.

Founded on March, 1, 2021, the Asia Institute has five founding partners: Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna, Regione Emilia-Romagna, Comune di Bologna, Confindustria Emilia and BolognaFiere S.P.A. The Asia Institute is founded as the development of the China Association College that, in its 14 years of the activity, became a reference point to support cultural relations between Italy and China.

The Asia Institute is a place for training and exchange for students of the University of Bologna interested in the Asian continent and for incoming students from Asia. It is a focal point for researchers studying Asia.

The Asia Institute promotes activities to connect Emilia-Romagna and Asia, organizing initiatives involving citizens and local firms and businesses.
