#ASIATALKS is a series of videos created to explore Asia in all of its aspects
In this new episode of #ASIATALKS, we present the “Asia Institute” Award for Master’s Theses, established in 2023 with the aim of promoting research and studies on the Asian continent from historical, socio-political, and cultural perspectives. This year, we have launched the third edition of the call for submissions, which will close on September 15! To promote it, we decided to interview the winner of last year’s edition, who told us about her thesis work and explained why it’s worth applying for our award.
Asia is facing major challenges. Rising of geopolitical tensions, ethnic conflicts, and the growing rivalry between major powers are putting peacebuilding efforts to the test. In this video, we analyze these pressing issues through an exclusive interview with Karina Korostelina, Professor of Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University and Visiting Scholar at the University of Bologna. With her expertise in social identity, conflict, and peace processes, we explore how memory, local actors, and identity play a crucial role in building a sustainable peace.
In the first video of #ASIATALKS, three experts help us understand the complex dynamics of a country often overlooked: Myanmar.
