The mobility questionnaire for home-work/study travel

All students and all teaching and professional staff are invited to participate in the annual online survey of mobility habits relating to travel between home and work/study.

The questionnaire

The questionnaire investigates in detail your route, any changes in transport method, time spent en route, costs, personal considerations about the advantages and disadvantages of the transport method used, habits and changes that have taken place, personal needs, opinions about different transport methods and the possibilities offered by your university and the local community, as well as general satisfaction with the trips made.

The goals

  • To find out the factors that determine university users’ choice of transport method for home-work travel
  • To identify user needs for better accessibility to university areas
  • To identify strategies to incentivise university users to change their habits in favour of more sustainable mobility
  • To facilitate the sharing of strategic actions in favour of sustainable mobility with local bodies

State of progress

In 2006, the first year of publication of the questionnaire, 1048 people responded: 986 were staff, including teachers and professional staff, and 62 were students.
In 2017-2018 there were 4772 respondents, including 68.3% students, 6.7% workers, 8.5% teachers and 16.5% professional staff.
The 2018-2019 questionnaire is online until 10 February.
