IT.A.CÀ migrants and travellers | Festival of responsible tourism

To experience the thrill of travel without necessarily going far.

In an era in which the sustainability of our development model and the socio-economic and environmental impact of our lifestyles are being called into question, IT.A.CÀ promotes a new tourism ethic and proposes responsible tourism implemented according to the principles of social and economic justice, and which respects the environment and culture.

At the "Responsible Tourism Festival", which is expanding in scope every year, everyone is offered the opportunity to experience sustainable, fair, slow, green, supportive, accessible and responsible tourism first-hand. The Festival gives people the opportunity to reconsider travelling not only as a straightforward holiday, transgression and diversion, but as an experience to know and discover the world. An invitation to experience the thrill of travel without necessarily going far.

Directed and conceived by UniBo Professor Pierluigi Musarò, IT.A.CÀ leads institutions, economic operators, tourists and entire communities in experimenting with alternative models, demonstrating that another model of tourism is now a possibility.

With the participation of the University of Bologna, ITACA invites you to discover places and cultures through book presentations, conferences, workshops, dinners, theatre, concerts, documentaries and routes on foot, by bike and more. It provides occasions for meeting and discussion, to reflect critically on the concept of travel and hospitality, migration and global citizenship, inequalities and the concept of development.
