European Cycling Challenge

A team challenge between urban cyclists.

The European Cycling Challenge is a team challenge between urban cyclists that takes place annually. Each team is in turn divided into groups and represents a European city. The winner of the challenge is the city that covers the biggest total mileage by bicycle, tracked by an app.

Within the City of Bologna team is the “UniBo” team, made up of students and University staff who use their bicycle for travelling to work and study.

Joining is simple: simply download the "Cycling365" app during the month in which the challenge takes place, join your team and track your movements (using the app) every time you use your bike.

In its fifth edition in 2016, the University of Bologna contributed significantly to the success of the initiative: the UniBo team, comprising more than 400 students and staff members (out of a total of 1600), cycled a total of 18,000 km.
