Baby Pit Stop

A space equipped for infants and their parents.

The Alma Mater has always been attentive to the well-being of its community and supports parenthood, promoting actions to improve the balance between professional and private life. The Baby Pit Stops are part of this strategy.
The initiative is inspired by a similar project by UNICEF and is based on the concept of diaper changing and breastfeeding. The first University Baby Pit Stop was established on the Bologna Campus, adjacent to one of the study rooms available to students, at Via Andreatta 4. The space meets environmental requirements and the minimum standards suggested by UNICEF: new mothers, university staff or students and their families have access to a furnished space equipped with every comfort to breastfeed or change their children. Facilities include a changing table, sink, bottle warmer, a small play area for older siblings, and a waiting area for accompanying individuals.
Following the first Baby Pit Stop, three others have been established in different areas of the University
