Hugo Charmetant

Pre-doctoral Research Assistant at the University of Bologna

Hugo Charmetant is a pre-doctoral research assistant in the Department of Economics at the University of Bologna. He holds a Master’s degree in International Politics and Economics from the University of Bologna and a Bachelor’s degree in Management from ESCP Business School.

His research interests lie at the nexus of environmental economics, behavioral economics, experimental economics, and political economy. He is broadly interested in climate change, inequality, and overcoming social dilemmas.  He is actively seeking a PhD position in Economics.

 

Marco Casari

Marco Casari

Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna

Marco Casari is a Professor of Economics at the University of Bologna, specializing in experimental and behavioral economics, environmental economics, and institutional economics. He earned his Ph.D. from the California Institute of Technology and has held positions at Stanford, Purdue, Ohio State, the European University Institute, and the Autonoma University of Barcelona. His research focuses on behavior in social dilemmas, decision-making in climate change, and social norms.

Prof. Casari directs the Bologna Laboratory for Experiments in Social Sciences and the Bachelor's program in Economics, Politics, and Social Sciences. He has published extensively in journals like the American Economic Review, Econometrica, and the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management. His contributions include insights on climate change governance, cooperation in social-ecological systems, and the foundations of money. He has received an ERC Grant and as well as grants from the Italian Ministry of Education and the European Commission.
