To maintain collegiate status, students must take all the exams provided for in the study plan, and successfully pass all the collegial exams.
To remain in the Collegio, students must fulfil some essential didactic requirements. As a matter of fact, it is essential to meet some learning requirements by the end of the academic year’s exam session (for AY 2022/23 the deadline is the 31st of March 2024; for AY 2023/2024 the deadline is the 31st of March 2025).
“Weighted-average” refers to the weighted-average calculated on the total exams registered in the academic career, including those taken during previous academic years. The “annual weighted-average”, on the other hand, is calculated only on the exams taken in a specific academic year.
Compliance with the Residency Regulations is an essential requisite to maintain status of Collegiate.
Collegiates obtaining the Bachelor’s degree within the second period of the academic year exam session, and complying with the merit requirements, have the possibility to continue their career at the Collegio, automatically accessing the second-cycle program.
The Collegio’s Secretariat periodically monitors collegiates’ careers: it verifies the attendance obligations of the Collegio’s educational activities and the fulfilment of the average-related requirements. This check allows for both the frontloading of the annual scholarship (verified on the 31st of October) and the transfer to the following years (verified on the 31st of March).
The weighted-average is calculated by multiplying each grade by the corresponding number of credits (without considering those exams marked with ID or RC), then summing all the factors obtained and then dividing by the sum of all the valid credits (i.e. those without the ID or RC mark). “Honours” are not considered.
The frontloading of the scholarship for the next year is suspended until next verification (on the 31st of March) for those collegiates who have not managed to obtain 2/3 of the credits provided for by the study plan of the current academic year by the 31st of October.
Failure to fulfil the obligations implies, at the end of the academic year, the lapse of the status of Collegiate, resulting in the loss of and requirement to repay the benefits received, starting from the academic year in which the requirements were not met.
Those collegiates of each cycle program who meet the merit-related requisites both for their entire university career and the educational program of Collegio Superiore will obtain the Collegio Superiore Diploma. Beginning with A.Y. 2020/2021, the Diploma received upon completion of a 5- or 6-year interdisciplinary academic program (including at least 60 ECTS) is equivalent to a second level Master Universitario, according to DD 001588 of 14/10/2022.
