Objectives of the School are:
● Describe the ecological role of biodiversity in the functioning of agroecosystems and their management in agro landscapes.
● Learn how to design and manage agroecological systems to produce crops.
● Learn how to assess sustainability and resilience at the farm and landscape level.
● Prevent soil, genetic, knowledge erosion and land abandonment.
● Promote One Health and active citizenship.

Outcomes include:
● Understanding the process and factors that affect the conservation and management of agricultural biodiversity.
● Becoming familiar with the principles of AgroEcology and their application in the design of resilient, biodiverse, efficient, and productive agroecosystems.
● Know how to use agroecological methodologies for sustainability and resilience assessment.
● Familiarity with agroecological practices and vision and alternative food systems.
● Development of soft skills and systemic thinking.

The Faculty is composed of the Academic staff of the University of Bologna, staff of Universities that participate in the PASS Project (University of Belgrade, Institute for Multidisciplinary Research, Serbia; University of California Berkeley, USA; Universidad de La Frontera, Chile; University of Minho, Department of Biology, Portugal) and staff from other Partners (University of Maribor, Slovenia; ELTE University, Hungary; University of Cordoba, Spain; University of Comahue, Argentina).

Participation is free and reserved to students. For the selection procedure, the candidates should send their CV, including motivations to:

A Certificate of Attendance will be delivered to participants.

How to reach us: the department is reachable by car or bus. Buses 35, 55 (Stop: Facolta' di Agraria) stops directly in front of the Department; Buses 14 (Stop: Sighinolfi) and 20 (Stop: Deledda) stops are within walking distance (aprox. 10 minutes).
