We are pleased to announce the "SCALA Spring Seminar 2025 – LUMEN Event," featuring a presentation by Prof. Olga Ulturgasheva, Associate Professor of Anthropology in the Department of Social Anthropology at Manchester University, organized in collaboration with the SCALA, Social and Cultural Anthropology Lab, research center at the University of Bologna.
🌟 Title: “On More-Than-Human Dimension of Research Collaborations and Nyamnin”
Abstract: Environmental crises in Arctic regions require a synergy of scientific and Indigenous knowledge to safeguard human and more-than-human lives. The presentation will explore collaborative strategies to address climate-induced threats, inspired by the Indigenous principle of nyamnin. It will promote a symmetrical and reciprocal approach that recognizes the plurality of connections and the importance of non-human worlds.
