Marigold - an all-purpose plant with a wide range of medicinal effects.

This flower is naturally found in some vineyards of our network of agroecological lighthouses. Because of its many uses, harvesting pesticide-free flowers could become an added revenue for agroecological farmers.

The flowers lend a dash of color while adding a mild flavor to recipes. It has many uses, including natural dye to give cheese and butter a more appealing yellow, as dried flowers for teas. One culinary delight that is sure to surprise is fried marigold. Dip the flowers in batter sweetened with honey, then deep-fry until golden brown. The crispy titbits are served as finger food or in summer salads ( Encyclopædia Britannica, 2023).

Negretto grape variety

Also known as Negrettino, Negrettino Bolognese, Nigret or Nigärtén (in Bolognese dialect).

Diffusion area: Typical cultivation area is the province of Bologna, but it is also found in the Ravenna area.

At the end of the nineteenth century, Negrettino was the predominant grape variety in the specialized vineyards of the Bologna area, both for its abundant production and because it was resistant to powdery mildew.

It is a wine grape, to be used mostly in blends or blends, as it tends to have little acidity, a lot of sugar and a lot of color.

Negretto is vinified with the more famous Barbera or in purity.
