Recently established, founded in 1973, the University of Minho (UMinho) is currently completely renewed in the competence and quality of the teaching staff, in the excellence of scientific research, in the wide range of degree and master's courses offered and in the high level of interaction with other institutions. For these reasons, UMinho plays a central role in the region, it represents an important point of reference for the country and it is a recognized partner at European and global level. Located in northern Portugal, UMinho has a campus in Braga and two others in Guimarães, Azurém Campus and Couros Campus. UMinho is ranked among the 200 best universities in the world, with less than 50 years of life, and ranked 83 in the world in the University Impact Ranking, based on THE 2019. As a result of the agreement between the Department of Biology of UMinho and DISTAL, bilateral exchanges of researchers, doctoral students and students are active, focusing on AgroEcology. Scientific papers have been published in collaboration.
