TClock4AD (Targeting Circadian Clock Dysfunction in Alzheimer’s Disease) project

We are proud to announce a joint doctoral programme funded within Horizon Europe Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks that will exploit unique expertise and advanced technologies at 12 leading universities, 3 research centers, a hospital, 12 non-academic institutions including SMEs, a large pharma company, a Health industry association, and a patient organization across EU, UK, Israel, USA and China.

With the aim of training doctoral candidates from different countries across Europe and beyond, this project focuses on covering 5 themes:

  • develop novel artificial intelligence-, proteolysis targeting chimeras- and multitarget-based strategies for new CC drug candidates
  • develop novel drug delivery nanotechnologies, which take into consideration CC
  • investigate innovative in vitro (stem-cells, 3D cultures) & in vivo (Drosophila), as well as organ-on-chip techniques, for preclinical validation of CC drugs
  •  get insight into the molecular mechanisms underlying CC in AD and associated drug response in mice and C. elegans models
  •  develop innovative biotech business models and exploitation strategies

PROLEISH - FISR (Fondo Integrativo Speciale per la Ricerca)

We are proud to announce our group won the prestigious call FISR - 2019 among more than hundreds of proposals. The investment is intended to finance specific interventions of particular strategic importance.

The financed two-year project (2021-23), named PROLEISH, will be developed counting on 3 strategic partners:

  • Istituto Superiore di Sanità (T. Di Muccio, E. Fiorentino)

International projects

We are involved in the MuTaLig COST Action project. COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) is a funding organization for research and innovation networks. These networks offer an open space for collaboration among scientists across Europe (and beyond) and thereby give impetus to research advancements and innovation.

International projects

B2AlzD2 is a "laboratory without walls" aimed to strengthen cooperation between teams within FaBiT Department in Bologna and Brazilian Partners. The main objective of B2AlzD2 is to strengthen the network involving scientists from the FaBit Department and four Brazilian universities (UNB, UFRJ, UFMG and RibeiraoPreto-USP) who share a common interest in research and teaching in the field of new drug discovery for Alzheimer's disease. To achieve this goal we created a Joint Lab to promote PhD student exchanges between the patner universities.
