PIETRO DELCORNO

Pietro Delcorno (PhD 2016) works as a researcher in Medieval History at DISCI, where he teaches History of Cities and Medieval Institutions and Society. His research focuses on the circulation of ideas and the formation of culture in late medieval society, with particular attention to dominant and/or normative forms of communication (preaching, religious performances, iconography, biblical exegesis), also considering their impact on city institutions such as hospitals, confraternities, and pawnshops. Currently, his main project – funded by an NWO Veni Research Grant – investigates late medieval Lenten preaching as a tool that was used to shape identities and organize and transmit knowledge.
