The “Naim-a-Tour” project aims to involve Albanian and Italian, in particular from the Romagna region, socio-cultural and economic operators for eco-sustainable tourism and to contribute to the social and economic development of Albania. Professors Enrico Giorgi and Giuseppe Lepore, directors of the Italian Archaeological Missions in Butrint and nearby Phoinike, took part in the first tour promoted by the project starting from Permet, its headquarter, and then leading the groups to the discovery of these historical centres. This first tour intends to promote, enhance and capitalize some important results through the proposal of an interchangeable common cultural heritage and what it means to “travel responsibly”. This is, in fact, an important development vector for countries, as its social, economic and cultural effects are much more coherent, direct and lasting than those produced by fast-paced tourism.
