Butrint Project 2023 - Exploring the territory

During the 2023 Campaign, the team of the Butrint Project visited the sites of Antigonea, Hadrianopolis and Labova in the Drinos River Valley, the Castle of Ali Pasha at the mouth of the Vivari Channel, the Roman villa of Diaporit on the Vrina Plain, the fortified farmhouse of Çumpora near Saranda, and the city of Arta in modern Epirus. We also met the team of the Archaeological Project of the School of Specialisation in Archaeological Heritage of the University of Matera in Kastri-Pandosia in the Acheron River Valley.
