Enrico Giorgi will talk about the Butrint Project during the session "Archeologia Classica, Conservazione, Restauro Europa e Mediterraneo". The initiative aims to raise awareness among the general public and the parliamentary bodies on the Italian excellence of archaeological research abroad.

The initiative, organised in collaboration with the Municipality of Rome, aims to showcase the Italian excellence in archaeological research abroad that the Archaeological Missions financed by the Farnesina have been conducting for decades in the five continents, with the aim of raising awareness and attention among the general public and the competent parliamentary bodies on this Italian excellence. The event will be attended not only by the Ambassadors of the countries in which the Missions operate, but also by qualified representatives of the institutional and academic world and 180 archaeological mission directors.
The day's proceedings will begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Aula Giulio Cesare and will be opened by the Mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, who will be followed by the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, and the Minister of Culture, Gennaro Sangiuliano.
From 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the proceedings will continue in the Sala della Protomoteca, with a Round Table moderated by the Director General for Public and Cultural Diplomacy, Pasquale Terracciano, dedicated to illustrating the most relevant elements and strengths of the preeminent Italian Missions financed by MAECI.
Starting at 2:00 p.m., work will continue with the holding of 8 parallel thematic sessions, divided into geographical areas and chrono-thematic phases, moderated by the Directors specialised in each area of research.
At 18:30 Ambassador Terracciano will introduce the final reports of the 8 moderators. The closing speech of the event will be given by the Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Maria Tripodi.
