Event location: Aula Bovini, Department of History and Cultures, Ravenna
The “Landscape3: una sintesi di elementi diacronici” conference, organised by the University of Bologna in collaboration with the Academic Board for Ancient Topography, was held in Bologna and Ravenna. The scientific committee comprised the director of the Butrint Project, Enrico Giorgi, along with Federica Boschi, Giuseppe Ceraudo, Paolo Liverani and Maria Luisa Marchi. The organisation and the scientific committee let three members of the Butrint Project team (Federica Carbotti, Veronica Castignani and Fabio Fiori) present a brief contribution dealing with the way archaeological data coming from excavations of villages and fortified hilltop sites, as well as archaeozoological analysis, can help us understand more about the economy and environment of ancient Epirus. We had the chance to talk for the first time about the preliminary archaeozoological analysis conducted during the 2021 campaign in Butrint and the results it gave in terms of cattle and mollusks exploitation.
