Butrinto 100 - Incontri nelle scuole: Butrinto e l'avventura di Ugolini

L'incontro si pone l'obiettivo di avvicinare gli alunni al sito di Butrinto, spiegandone contesto geografico ed evoluzione storica, nonché far conoscere loro la figura di Luigi Maria Ugolini, l'archeologo loro concittadino che ha riscoperto il sito nel 1924. Dopo aver ripreso i concetti visti durante l'incontro precedente sul mestiere dell'archeologo, gli alunni hanno analizzato la storia di Luigi Maria Ugolini, la sua famiglia e il suo luogo di nascita, i suoi primi studi in Romagna e, infine, il suo arrivo in Albania. Esplorando la geografia di questo Paese, sono così arrivati a scoprire Butrinto, il suo paesaggio e la sua lunga storia plurisecolare, fino ad arrivare alle attività svolte oggi dal Butrint Project. Al termine dell'incontro, gli alunni hanno assimilato le informazioni necessarie per la visita alla mostra fotografica organizzata nel palazzo del Comune di Bertinoro che visiteranno insieme ai loro insegnanti.

15th April - Butrint and the adventure of Luigi Maria Ugolini

The meeting aims to bring the site of Butrint closer to students, explaining its geographical context and historical evolution, as well as introducing them to the figure of Luigi Maria Ugolini, their fellow citizen archaeologist who rediscovered the site in 1924. After taking up the notions seen during the previous meeting on the archaeologist's profession, pupils analyzed the background of Luigi Maria Ugolini, his family and place of birth, his early studies in Romagna, and, finally, his arrival in Albania. Exploring the geography of this country, they thus came to discover Butrint, its landscape and its centuries-long history, leading up to the activities carried out today by the current Butrint Project. At the end of the meeting, pupils have gathered the necessary information for the visit to the photographic exhibition organized in the Bertinoro City Hall, which they will visit together with their teachers.
