FUTURE DESIGN SYMPOSIUM

Future Design Human Body Interaction

22 June 2021

The international symposium Future Design Human Body Interaction was born to build a network of professional researchers who deeply investigate the state of the art and the possible future evolutions of human-machine interfaces.
You can contribute to the research of the Symposium by signing up in the form and reporting case studies of interest related to the three areas. The outcomes of the research and the analysis of the case studies will be presented on the day of the event.

FUTURE DESIGN FOR KNOWLEDGE INNOVATION

31 March 2021

In the knowledge society design helps to rethink and redesign knowledge innovation. The Symposium “Future Design for Knowledge Innovation” is an opportunity to start an international debate that will help us to interpret emerging trends on current issues and relevance related to innovation in knowledge and organizational learning practices focusing on: continuous training, new spaces and new processes of social organization and decision-making and technological innovation.

Updating Values — FutureDesignEd 2020

16-17 January 2020

“Updating values” is the second edition of FutureDesignEd Symposium. The Symposium gives voice to the strategies and motivations behind the innovation excellence in the curricula of design universities, but also to the alternative training programs based on approaches and tools from the design cultures. At the same time, it enables students, educators, researchers, practitioners, businesses to explore contemporary agendas, emerging directions and future challenges on the subject of design education.

The Future of Packaging Design

06 December 2019

  • A study day that aims to present the results of our research on innovations in the Packaging sector at an international level and to designate, also through the direct testimonies of protagonists from around the world and from the Packaging Valley, the drivers that push this sector into the future.
  • An ongoing academic research and observing project involving over 80 international surveyors and experts, committed to reporting cases of innovation or sustainability driven by design in the packaging sector. To date, more than 300 case studies have been surveyed.
  • The opportunity to launch the creation of a Permanent Observatory on Innovative and Sustainable Packaging design-driven at the University of Bologna, which is essential to speed up innovation processes, the dissemination of knowledge and the consolidation of the network. The Observatory aims to act as a reference centre in the sector on a national scale, setting up a system, through a "design of relationships", of the main realities (research centres, consortia, universities, companies) that vertically deal with observing the phenomenon from different perspectives.

FutureDesignEd Symposium

30 September 2017

  • A day of study to show the results of an ongoing research project and to give voice, through direct testimonies of protagonists from all over the world, to the strategies and motivations behind the innovation excellence in the didactic curricula of design universities, but also to the alternative training realities based on approaches and tools from the cultures of design;
  • is an ongoing academic research project engaging over 100 international observers and experts, involved in reporting experiences that relate to design-driven educational processes;
  • is a social-media platform to promote the symposium and the research project but also to inform and engage students, citizens, educators, researchers, practitioners, businesses and all other stakeholders regarding educational processes and transformations in which design is interpreted as an innovation factor.
