The project involves structured and temporary personnel affiliated with DIMEVET. Their expertise ranges from animal and dairy cow nutrition and feeding, quality of animal production, general pathology and veterinary anatomical pathology, biological and chemical safety of foods of animal origin, environmental biochemistry and chemistry, mitochondrial bioenergetics and cellular metabolism, and life cycle assessment.
The expertise of the lead researcher, Professor Alessandra De Cesare, is in the biological safety of foods of animal origin and by-products, as well as in the characterization of microbiomes circulating within food systems to improve their safety, quality, and sustainability.
Professor Alessandra De Cesare is involved in several European projects (e.g., CIRCLES, VEO, NEXTGENPROTEINS) focused on topics related to this project.
The research group involved in the project is described in the attached document.
