WP1

The objective of WP1 is to create a dataset of metagenomic and genomic data, metadata, and big data descriptors of the dairy cow supply chain, including milk and dairy products.
The dataset will be developed by collecting a representative number of samples from animals, environment, milk, and dairy products through longitudinal field studies covering the entire supply chain, analyzing different scenarios and specific case studies.

These studies will be conducted at the DIMEVET experimental farm and other farms where innovations or strategies are already being applied to address climate change impact, environmental impact of livestock farming and circular economy principles, including the rational use of by-products and water resources, also through low-energy technologies.
