The main objectives of the Project were to:
- raise awareness among target groups on the issue of biodegradable plastics, with the establishment of National Information Points (in Italy, Slovenia, Slovakia and Poland), the development and dissemination of an information toolkit, the set-up of a certification system for compostable plastics in Slovenia and Slovakia, and the organization of events aimed at disseminating information on environmental aspects of plastics;
- Improve technology transfer and knowledge exchange mechanisms in biodegradable plastics end-user industries, Improving access to scientific knowledge and the use of already existing knowledge as well as adapting knowledge to the requirements of biodegradable polymer and plastics producers;
- Intensify application-oriented cooperation between research and industry.
