Schedule and more info: https://phd.unibo.it/matematica/it/didattica/2018-2019
In this course, we give a overview of basic Functional Analysis and Operator Theory (up to the spectral theorem), with examples, applications, and exercises mostly from the theory of holomorphic functions and their applications. We will not prove most results in functional analysis, we will prove most results about holomorphic functions.
Topics which we would like to cover include:
Basic Hilbert and Banach space theory
Basic spectral theory
Hardy spaces and their invariant subspaces, with a short excursion in control theory
Hilbert spaces with a reproducing kernel
Entire functions
Paley-Wiener spaces and sampling of band limited signals
Prerequisites: basic knowledge of complex analysis, basic knowledge of Hilbert and Banach spaces, and of bounded/compact operators.
