For students attending a bachelor’s or master’s degree programme

Every year the College offers supplementary learning activities, organised with timetables and formats that are compatible with students’ curricular activities.

• Who they are for: students who are enrolling for the first time in the first year of a degree programme, second cycle/two-year master's degree or single-cycle degree programme at the University of Bologna, who have been admitted to the Collegio Superiore
• What they include: supplementary training pathways that complement the University degree programme, second cycle/two-year master's degree or single-cycle degree programme
• Qualification awarded: the Diploma of the Collegio Superiore is for Collegio members enrolled on a five- or six-year pathway, equivalent to a professional master's programme (2nd level).

What you will study

The Collegio Superiore offers interdisciplinary learning activities organised into Ordinary Courses that fall within two broad subject areas:

• Humanities and Social Sciences area, which includes the following fields: Economics and Management; Law; Languages and Literatures, Interpreting and Translation; Psychology; Education; Political Sciences; Statistics; Sociology; Humanities.
• Science and Technology (ST) area, which includes the following fields: Pharmacy and Biotechnology; Engineering and Architecture; Medicine; Veterinary Medicine; Sciences; Agricultural and Food Sciences; Sports Science.

Collegio members are required each year to attend at least 72 hours of lecture courses.

The training path

The training path of the Ordinary Courses of the Collegio is designed to deepen knowledge, strengthen analytical abilities and develop practical competences, with the possibility of obtaining additional ECTS credits. It includes courses, seminars, laboratories, ISA Lectures and, at the end of the pathway, involves producing a final paper.

Mode of attendance

Attending the learning activities of the Collegio Superiore is compulsory. Absence is only possible in the cases provided for and within the limits on the number of hours established for each type of activity.

Teaching methods
Teaching takes place in person.

In the event of mobility for study or research reasons, in Italy or abroad, it is possible to request authorisation to attend integrated courses and non-laboratory seminars remotely.

Absences and recouping hours

Absence is possible for a limited number of hours, depending on the type of activity. Absences must be notified in advance and the recouping procedures agreed with lecturers, Tutors and the Administration Office.

Course timetable and lecture halls

Unless otherwise indicated, the activities will take place at the following times:

• Integrated courses: from 8:30 pm to 10:30 pm
• Seminars: from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
• Laboratories for transferable skills: from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
• ISA Lectures of the Institute of Advanced Studies: from 5:30 pm

Lessons take place mainly at Palazzo Marchesini (Via Marsala, 26 – Bologna). Some laboratory activities may be scheduled in different locations or at different times.

How to complete, modify and request recognition of activities in your study plan

The study plan includes all the learning activities that the Collegio members choose to attend in order to obtain the qualification awarded by the Collegio. It must be completed each year via the Studenti Online platform and can be modified. With the Tutor's approval, some activities included in the plan can be replaced with others outside the Collegio’s standard teaching activities.

Exams, eligibility, final examination and recording of marks

The Collegio’s integrated courses involve producing a paper, while participation in seminars makes it possible to obtain eligibility. Each year it is necessary to check the deadlines for submitting papers and the final examination, as well as the timeframes for recording marks.
