On March 29, 2025, the meeting "Dimensione Blu: The Underwater World and the Environmental and Marine Heritage Available to Biologists in Emilia-Romagna and Marche" was held in the former refectory hall of the San Paolo Cloister in Ferrara.
The event, aimed at professional biologists, researchers, students, and other environmental professionals, was designed to offer advanced training opportunities, experience sharing, and debates on sustainability, conservation, and managing marine ecosystems.
The program included presentations by national experts and roundtable discussions focused on the opportunities that the underwater world offers in scientific, educational, and professional contexts.
Professor Massimo Ponti presented the LIFE NatuReef project during a talk titled "The restoration of oyster and sabellaria habitats for increased biodiversity and coastal zone protection."
Dr. Eva Turicchia showcased examples of spatial analysis that will also be applied in the LIFE NatuReef project area, during her presentation titled "Analysis of the spatial distribution of benthic species in sedimentary coastal marine environments."
The event was organized by the National Federation of the Order of Biologists, with the sponsorship of the Italian Biologists Foundation and the Municipality of Ferrara.
