Work Packages

The SCOOP partners are: University of Warmia and Mazury(Coordinator), Biosfera, Agricultural University of Plovdiv, UNIBO, Ass. Ita Agr. Biologica (AIAB) and Central Research Institute of Field Crops. The project is structured around 5 Work Packages. The specific objective sare:

  • Identifying, through local living labs (LL), the best companion-crop to be intercropped with camelina under different climatic conditions (WP1);
  • Addressing LL for capacity building activity at local level and future scale up of organic intercropping systems (WP1);
  • Developing high-performing intercropping systems for organic farming (WP2);
  • To establish a lighthouse platform aimed at demonstrating what is brought in and the feasibility of the proposed intercropping systems at farm level (WP1/2);
  • Quantifying the environmental benefits related to the adoption of intercropping in terms of belowgroung biodiversity promotion, and decrease in pest, disease and weed (WP2);
  • Setting-up innovative post-harvest processing systems to efficiently separate seeds for specific food/feed applications (WP3);
  • Analyzing seed quality of the different species identifying those more suitable for meeting local consumers’ needs and expectations (WP3);
  • Assessing energy, economic and environmental of the SCOOP intercropping systems (WP4);
  • Disseminating the intercropping opportunities and advantages to farmers, practitioners and end-users (WP5).
