Partial discharge measurements

Monitoring and analysis of partial discharge activity in insulation systems is done through ultrawide bandwidth detection systtem, Techimp PDBase and PDCheck.

Several sensors are available in the lab and can be connected to detect PD with the highest sensitivity, e.g. HFCT, capacitive couplers, antenna, acoustic sensors, etc. 

Measurements are done on:

• MV/HV/EHV cables and accessories
• MV/HV/EHV transformers
• LV electric motors fed by power electronics also at low pressures (more electric aircraft)
• MV motors and generators
• GIS 

Past experience on:

• Algorithms for PD separation (TF map)
• Laboratory testing for building identification database
• Artificial intelligence tools for partial discharge source recognition
• UHF detection for mesurements on power electronic supplied equipment
• PD measurements by means of Optic Fiber sensors
