Prototyping and 3D Printing Workshop
Date: 23 JANUARY 2026 from 9:00 to 13:00
Event location: ALMALABOR MAKERSPACE, Viale Carlo Pepoli 3/2, Bologna
Type: Workshop
Goals:
The workshop aims to introduce participants to the fundamentals of rapid prototyping and 3D printing through a practical and creative approach.
During the activity, participants will have the opportunity to explore the entire process from digital design to the physical creation of an object, by reproducing an iconic design piece that is both recognizable and meaningful.
The goal is twofold:
-provide basic technical skills related to 3D modeling and the use of 3D printers;
-encourage reflection on the role of prototyping as an essential tool in the design and innovation process.
Through the analysis and reproduction of a famous design object, the workshop also aims to offer a critical perspective on the formal and functional value of design, helping participants understand how design choices translate into forms, materials, and production solutions.
After a brief introduction to the core concepts and basic tools, we will dive into the heart of the activity! Each group, guided by the MAKERSPACE team, will model their object in 3D using dedicated software, customizing it by adding details either before or during post-production. During the printing phase, participants will create a descriptive sheet including the concept, visual references, and a moodboard, which they will present in the final stage of the workshop.
You can register through SOL Eventi until January 21, 2026.
