The research work at UCI has mainly involved extensive experimental testing of the congruence coefficient to solve the protein fold recognition problem. Experimental tests on predicted data recovered from the CASP repository show that the congruence coefficient can significantly improve the protein fold recognition in comparison to several other widely used similarity measure.
