This project tests the efficacy of a multidisciplinary group intervention aimed at promoting psychological well-being in combination with education on healthy and sustainable eating in patients with obesity.
PROJECT IMPACT
The results of this project highlight promising directions for clinical practice and obesity management. Our multidisciplinary approach, combining psychological and nutritional strategies, led to meaningful improvements not only in weight loss but also in psychological well-being and the adoption of healthier, more sustainable eating habits—outperforming nutritional education alone. This shows that addressing psychological factors alongside dietary guidance can drive lasting changes in both mental and physical health. Patients benefit not just from weight reduction, but from a more fulfilling lifestyle built on sustainable eating and improved overall quality of life. By fostering an integrated sense of well-being, our method supports behavioral shifts that are more likely to endure, breaking the cycle of weight regain. Long-term success in obesity management also means fewer repeated, costly interventions and less treatment of obesity-related chronic diseases, ultimately easing the burden on healthcare systems.
