ROLE OF META-COGNITIONS AND COGNITIVE STYLES IN THE TREATMENT OF EDs
This research line focuses on cognitive aspects such as subjective incompetence, irrational beliefs, and meta-cognitions, and their role in the symptomatology of eating disorders and treatment response in patients with eating disorders (EDs).
The project also evaluates cognitive flexibility in EDs as a potential clinimetric index by assessing the balance between rational and irrational thoughts, using Ellis's Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy paradigm.
NAMED - Network Analyses Models of Eating Disorders
The project aims to develop network models of eating disorders (EDs) that include transdiagnostic factors such as rational/irrational beliefs and psychological well-being dimensions through the application of network analysis techniques.
The NAMED project consists of two ongoing parallel longitudinal studies:
- The first study involves the general population at risk of developing an ED.
- The second study involves the clinical population undergoing psychotherapy for an ED.
VIRTUAL REALITY FOR THE TREATMENT OF PSYCHOLOGICAL DISTRESS
The research project investigates the use of virtual reality technologies within a transdiagnostic intervention assisted by virtual reality ("How to Observe and Measure Emotions – H.O.M.E.") for the prevention of eating disorders.
Through the use of virtual reality technologies, this research aims to reduce dysfunctional eating behaviors and other negative psychological factors (specifically, emotional dysregulation, psychological inflexibility, and experiential avoidance) in participants at risk for developing these psychopathologies.
