Dagon University Team

Dagon University is an Arts and Science University and situated 20 km north from Yangon City Center. The University offers Bachelor's and Master's degree programs in common liberal arts, law and sciences. It is the largest university in Myanmar in terms of student population and area coverage, with twenty departments offering 28 teaching programs. Currently, 23,000 students are attending regular classes. In addition, another 37,000 students take lectures conducted at Dagon University Branch, University of Distance Education. Moreover, DU offers some diploma courses under the Human Resource Development Program (HRD), as for the diploma in computer studies and the diploma in spatial information. Altogether,1613 persons are working for Dagon University: 1066 Academic staff (teachers) and 547 administration staff. In recent years, the university has actively participated in international education by hosting student and faculty exchanges, international seminars, conferences and workshops, international youth programs and joint research projects. DU has already signed twenty-three MoUs with global universities and international organizations, and was also a member of EMILYA (European Program for International Mobility with Asia). 

NU NU YI, Chinlone Local Team. Dr. Nu Nu Yi is Pro-rector of Administration and Finance at the Department of Higher Education of Dagon University. She has obtained her PhD in Intellectual Property Law and her Diploma in Japanese. She was firstly appointed as University Tutor in 1986, then became Assistant Lecturer in 1994, Associate Professor in 2005 and, two years later, was appointed as Full Professor. She has extensive experience in training and formation in the field of higher education. 

 

 


NAY THWE KYI, Chinlone Local Team. Dr. Nay Thwe Kyi is Pro-rector for Students Affairs at the Department of Higher Education of Dagon University. She has obtained her PhD in Chemistry and started the academic career in 1986 as Demonstrator. In 2009, she was appointed as Associate Professor, and, since 2017, she also also serves as Pro-rector. In light of her background, Dr. Nay Thwe Kyi has acquired extensive experience in terms of management and formation of the administrative staff.

 

MI KHIN SAW AUNG, Chinlone Local Team. Dr. Mi Khin Saw Aung is Full Professor and Head of the Law Department at Dagon University. She has obtained her PhD in International Law and started her academic career in 1995 as didactic tutor, to be then appointed as Lecturer (2004) and Associate Professor (2011). She has participated in numerous research projects both domestically and abroad. 

 

DOW MAY HAN HNIN, Chinlone Local Team. Dow May Han Hnin works as Secretary at the International Relations Unit of Dagon University, as well as Assistant Lecturer at the Department of English of the same university. She obtained her MA in English in 2007 at Dagon University, and two years later started serving as Tutor. In 2016, she has been appointed as Assistant Lecturer. She has been involved in many experiences both domestically and abroad devoted to the training of IRO staff.
