Discovering Our Seas
Date: 16 MARCH 2025
Event location: Reggio Emilia
On Sunday, March 16, 2025, a special educational event took place in Reggio Emilia, dedicated to the Adriatic Sea and the natural environments of the Po Delta Park. The initiative, organized by the Reggiana Nuoto a.s.d. sports association in collaboration with the Po Delta Park of Emilia-Romagna, welcomed families, children, and young people of all ages at the Sport and Health Hall in Reggio Emilia.
Titled “A Marine Biology Lesson: Discovering Our Seas”, the event invited participants on a fascinating journey through the wonders of the coastal and marine world. The session was led by Luca Monteleone, marine biologist and environmental technical officer of the Park, who engaged the audience with an inspiring explanation of the “secrets of the beach”—how it forms, how it works, who inhabits it, and who protects it.
The event also included a presentation of the LIFE NatuReef project, with a focus on its actions to safeguard coastal ecosystems, restore submerged reefs, and enhance the natural habitats preserved within the Po Delta Park.
It was a valuable opportunity to bring younger generations closer to the biodiversity of our sea and promote a culture of sustainability and environmental stewardship.
