Project abstract

BTF is not just a physical project but aims to introduce a new way of conceiving agriculture and its territory.

The idea revives around two key points: innovation and tradition. Italian culture has an immense heritage that must be encouraged, but at the same time it is not possible to remain indifferent to the great technological innovations of our times. The choice of the site is not accidental but is emblematic of this close correlation between tradition and innovation: Lanuvio hosts the temple of Giunone Sospita and is a place of historical and archaeological interest of great value. However, the area is not properly equipped to become an important tourist destination. BTF proposes a new model of educational farm, which blends in with the cultural context and landscape that surrounds it. The idea is to create a close relationship between tourism and agriculture, offering multiple learning opportunities to tourists. On one hand the magnificence of historical excavations, on the other the possibility of a new experience based on sustainability and self-sufficiency of a system capable of giving new life to the territory. A guided tour of the temple will be followed by a fascinating intellectual and sensory experience that will lead tourists to approach a new way of conceiving the agricultural sector, which acquires as much dignity as the tertiary/cultural sector. The choice to start from the agricultural sector is driven by the desire to bring man back to an environment free of distractions, to reach a knowledge of the agricultural/food field often non-existent in everyone.

Architecture follows the wave of agriculture, responding to the very needs of nature and offering spaces for possible experimentation and innovation.

The intellectual experience is at the heart of our project. We set ourselves a wider objective than the simple territorial requalification: a new ecological sensibility and mentality, inclusive and exclusive at the same time.

A distinctive feature of the project is the lack of a unique target, to encourage a wide cooperation of ideas between different groups of people: children, adults, tourists, citizens of Lanuvio.
