On November 11, 2025, Roberta Gentili presented part of her doctoral research project at the Forlì campus of the University of Bologna, during the course History of the World Economy and Migration, taught by Professor Francesca Fauri. The seminar was part of the “The Migration Challenge in a Historical Perspective” project by Punto Europa, dedicated to deepening the understanding of migration and its dynamics

During the seminar, Roberta provided background on the history and functioning of the so-called ‘Balkan route’ to the master’s students and then focused on her specific field of study, the Una-Sana Canton and the border between Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia. Part of the presentation focused on the term “the Game”—a term used by people on the move to describe their attempt to cross the border and reach the European Union. She then addressed the infrastructures of mobility that support or hinder the Game, such as the role of the formal and informal camps, the weaponization of nature and the violence along the border perpetrated by Croatian police authorities against people on the move.

Throughout the seminar, Roberta answered questions and engaged with students.
