On 8 and 9 September 2025 Vasiliki Makrygianni attended the workshop “Economies of Expulsion: Mapping Pushbacks and Detention in the Aegean Region” at the Geography Department of Durham University organised by colleagues from Stirling University, University College Dublin, Feminist Autonomous Centre for research, Legal Centre Lesvos, Greece and Durham University. The workshop brought together migrant solidarity organizations, legal experts, and academics researching borders, asylum and migration control.
