Emma Beatrice Farina presented a poster at the Italian Conference on Archaeology of the Contemporary Age hosted by the University of Bari in collaboration with the MAPPA lab of the University of Pisa. It brought together archaeologists and scholars to discuss a wide variety of themes and methodologies concerning the archaeology of the contemporary age.
Emma's poster, “Makeshift camps along the Balkan Route: archaeological approaches” (“I campi informali urbani lungo la Rotta Balcanica: approcci archeologici.”), presented the case study of a an abandoned Bosnian makeshift camps and, specifically, it discussed graffiti as a key element for the analysis of the camp’s spatialities and social life.
