On November 8, Emma Beatrice Farina presented a paper at the conference CHAT BOTXO. Contemporary & Historical Archaeology in Theory Annual Meeting in Bilbao, Spain. 

The conference brought together scholars and researchers from the fields of contemporary and historical archaeology, media and arts, and heritage studies to discuss methodological approaches to the study of material cultures of the recent past.

Emma's paper, "Refugees’ presence in the city. Archaeological approaches to makeshift camps along the Balkan Route” discussed abandoned makeshift camps as potential archaeological sites and presented an analysis of graffiti located in a makeshift camp in Bosnia and Herzegovina
