Lecture on archaeological methodologies of the present

On the 16th of December, Emma Beatrice Farina held a class for the course “Medieval and Postmedieval Archaeology” taught by Laia Gallego Vila at the University of Barcelona.

She first introduced the students to the archaeology of contemporary migration, presenting a literature review and discussing the strengths and issues of such approach. The second part of the seminar focused on TheGame project, as Emma discussed her PhD research, with a focus on the analysis of graffiti from a Bosnian makeshift camp.

During the discussion, Emma answered the students’ questions on her research and discussed the potentiality and issues of applying archaeological methodologies to the study of the present time.
