Dates and Activities of the Blended Intensive Programme
Objective is to get an introduction to AFM and to study the major components of the instrumental setup
Introductory online lectures will be held life in online-streaming. A recording of the lecture will be present on the online plattform.
Dates for the lectures are:
March 20th at 14:00 - lecture 1
March 24th at 14:00 - lecture 2
March 30th at 14:00 - lecture 3
The online plattform offers a variety of study material. It is important that students have a good understanding to be able to address the laboratory challenges. A self-evaluation test helps the student to assess their knowledge on AFM.
Students chose their preferences for the experimental challenges. Based on their choices we will compose mixed teams. The teams will meet online and prepare their challenges.
All teams meet in Bologna to address their experimental challenges.
An informal meeting with drinks will be held in which participants meet in person for the first time.
We have different AFM setups and laboratory access for 5 days. Teams will work on their experimental challenges.
The Teams will prepare their lab-reports and present their findings to the other class-members.
The teams prepare a concise report about how they solved the challenge. The report needs to provide instructions for future groups having to address similar challenges. The text will be uploaded on the online plattform and made available to all participants.
In the final meeting, teams will present how they addressed their challenges and will demonstrate their findings. Feedback is provided. All findings will be collected in the online plattform to be a future resource for AFM researchers.
