GUIGUW (Graphical User Interface for Guided Ultrasonic Waves) is an interactive program designed to calculate the dispersive properties of stress waves propagating in waveguides immersed in vacuum. Using GUIGUW, the user can easily identify and evaluate the possible acoustic waves existing in a wide range of structures. GUIGUW is developed in Matlab and compiled as a stand-alone software. The current version can be downloaded and used for free. Check it out!
In the final structural health monitoring campaign of the FP7 SARISTU project, a large-scale aeronautical composite wing demonstrator was subject to a non-destructive guided waves screening in different testing conditions (pristine wing, after fatigue testing, after impact testing). A large database of piezo-actuated and -received guided waves signals has been collected, properly organized and described, and shared to public (the database is free to download at link below). To date, several research groups from academia and companies are exploiting the database to test their algorithms for guided waves modeling, damage localization and imaging, as well as sensors network optimization.
