RItrainPlus is proud to launch a new training programme specifically designed for students to introduce them to the professional role of managers and operator in a Research Infrastructure or Core Facility.
The pilot programme will run starting from AY 2023-2024 and consists of a series of Learning Activities, developed and taught by RItrainPlus partners, which will be delivered in the form of winter and summer schools.
Students who successfully complete all training activities will be awarded a cumulative certificate of attendance attesting their competence as future managers of Research Infrastructure and Core Facilities, making them part of the biggest community of RI managers in Europe.

N.B. Students may apply to their relevant Course of Study for the recognition of extra-curricular CFU in type D (free choice) in SSDs related to the themes of the courses.

RItrainPlus training programme SS3: Interdisciplinary work: make the team effective

This RItrainPlus course is designed for bachelor students but is also available to master and PhD students and early career researchers and technicians. The programme will provide you the skills needed to manage communication, facilitate the work of and deal with issues possibly arising within an interdisciplinary research group.

The course includes a part of in-person activities, optimal for learning outcomes; however, remote participation will also be possible.

Period: 10/06/24 - 17/07/24
Attendance: either 100% online or 60% in presence (University of Bologna) + 40% online

RItrainPlus training programme SS2: Communicating Research – Introduction to Science to Science and Science to Public Communication

PhD students, early career researchers and technicians are invited to take part in SS2. The school aims to provide students with a basic understanding of how to communicate their research to different target groups, why this is necessary for good scientific practice and what can be done to achieve this. The course will introduce students to different forms of text suited for varying types of science communication and help them to decide what to take into account when writing materials for diverse purposes. Not only will it present different tools and resources available to host their content in a persistent way, but it will inform them of the wide range of offerings for their research (e.g. dedicated homepages, content repositories, editable hubs), providing them with the knowledge to select the correct tools for their demands.

The course includes a part of in-person activities, optimal for learning outcomes; however, remote participation will also be possible.

Period: 24/06/24 - 5/07/24
Attendance: either 100% online or 65% in presence (University of Bologna) + 35% online

RItrainPlus training programme SS1: Innovation, entrepreneurship and engagement with industry

RItrainPlus offers to master’s, but also PhD students and early career researchers and technicians this new programme which will address questions like “What is an invention?” and will help participants understand how to valorise entrepreneurship for innovation and an increased impact of the RI or CF on society. Moreover, the pathways and the elements to constitute successful and sustainable relationships between industry and the facilities will be elucidated, getting the message across on how to overcome major barriers by leveraging on the added value for a successful engagement.

RItrainPlus training programme WS 3: Ethical, Legal and Social Implications in Research Infrastructures and Core Facilities

RItrainPlus offers a new training opportunity to bachelor and master students, PhD students and early career researchers and technicians. Through theoretical lessons and hands-on activities, the course will provide an overview of the ethical, legal and social implications in research-performing organizations and research infrastructures.

The programme will provide you the skills needed to manage the data from a research project, taking into account also the need to define and to implement the data policies of an institution.
