The main goals of the first campaigns were mapping of the surface evidence in the area and starting with the cleaning of the Bronze Age wall.
The profile drawing was complemented with a survey of the area near the fortification wall and collection of surface materials. These activities aimed to identify potential areas characterized by human activity adjacent to the wall structure and to asses how modern vegetation affected the preservation of Bronze Age remains.
The first step thus involved the survey of the area adjacent to the wall; units of regular dimensions (20x20 m) were created. During the first campaign, two strips of 12 units each (24 in total), parallel to the orientation of the wall structure, were surveyed, covering 40% of their surface. Walkers, positioned 5 m apart from each other, were responsible for material collection and recorded visibility through the platform fivepicollect.org, following the methodology used in the Roca Archaeological Survey
In addition, during the 2021 campaign, it was possible to begin cleaning a small western portion of the fortification to identify its construction characteristics. The area was selected due to its good state of conservation, free from potential subsequent interventions.
