The NatuReef project participated in the eighth edition of the scientific conference on underwater exploration in Crete, where a wide range of topics crucial for understanding and conserving marine ecosystems were explored.
In this context, Prof. Ponti presented the poster entitled "LIFE NatuReef: Nature-based reef solution for coastal protection and marine biodiversity enhancement". The intervention focused on the scientific diving methodologies adopted or planned for monitoring the site and for the transplantation of oyster and sabellaria specimens during the various phases of the LIFE NatuReef project. Scientific divers are employed for sampling, manual oysters and sabellaria nuclei transplants, bioconstruction, bioerosion experiments, video documentation, and photographic and photogrammetric surveys to create a digital twin of the new bioconstruction.
