Massimo Ponti and Renata Archetti have received the 2025 Guidarello Award for Author Journalism, in the Audiovisual category, for the Life NatuReef project presented on Geo (RAI) last 31 January.
The award ceremony, hosted by Bruno Vespa together with Ilaria Iacoviello, took place on Saturday, 29 November at the Alighieri Theatre in Ravenna.
The prize, one of the recognitions dedicated to the Romagna region, was granted for the interview with Sveva Sagramola in which Ponti and Archetti, project coordinators, illustrated the key aspects of this innovative initiative aimed at creating a submerged reef formed by native oysters and sabellaria. These species will be reintroduced along the coastal area at the mouth of the Bevano stream, a protected site of community interest.
The project, currently being implemented and funded by the European Union, involves the restoration of underwater habitats, the enhancement of biodiversity, and the protection of coastal environments from storm surges and erosion processes—without the use of artificial barriers.
On the Guidarello stage, the conversation between Vespa and the project coordinators highlighted the highly innovative scientific and environmental nature of the initiative
