November 17, 2023 Art and Heritage in a Click

The LBC-CeSLiC Unit has organized an outgoing orientation and job placement initiative on November 17,2023. This was part of the Master's Degree program in Language, Society and CommunicatioIts aim was to provide training in the field of communication and digital technologies, applied to the promotion of artistic and cultural heritage and the innovation of tourism communication. These aspects were covered in the courses of English for Specific Purposes 1, French for Specific Purposes, Spanish Linguistics, Russian Linguistics, and German Linguistics. The day also featured the presentation of case studies and good practices, , as well as workshops concerning two research projects.

Saturdays at Lilec (2022 and 2023 Editions)

With its projects, the LBC-CeSLiC Unit participated in the last two editions of the "Sabati del Lilec" (Saturdays at Lilec), a series of meetings addressed to students and citizens, offered by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures of the University of Bologna.

November 11, 2022 Aldrovandi Day 2022 - Ulisse Aldrovandi in a transnational perspective. New experiences and narratives of the natural world

The LBC-CeSLiC Unit participated in the study day organized by the Department of Languages, Literatures and Modern Cultures (LILEC) of the University of Bologna, in collaboration with the University Museum Network. The event was held at the LILEC Department and Palazzo Poggi.

The day aimed to investigate the influence of the work of Ulisse Aldrovandi in a transnational dimension, as well as to question the role that his works, his methods of observation, and his language played in the process of organizing, cataloguing, and 'narrating' the new and the great workshop of the natural world on a broader European scale.

 

IC20 Elementary School Workshops (April 2022)

The workshop, “The City of Bologna narrated by foreign travellers of the past," was addressed to two primary schools of the Comprehensive Institute n. 20 in Bologna during the 2021-22 school year. It encouraged reflection on identity, perception, and explored the way Bologna was seeing by foreigners, with the aim to stimulate students to recognise and deconstruct common stereotypes, understanding colonialisms, gender inequalities, and pointing out the wealth of linguistic diversities, through the reading of stories and testimonies.

In total, two meetings were held:

March 30, 2022, Carducci Elementary School, class 5C: meeting coordinated by teacher Stefania Caneva.

April 27, 2022, Fortuzzi Elementary School, class 4B: meeting coordinated by teacher Silvia Santunione.

PCTO Project (March 2022)

The PCTO project "Unicittà – Knowing the tangible and intangible heritage of the University of Bologna," addressed to the Righi high school in Bologna and the Alighieri high school in Ravenna during the 2021-22 school year. The goal was to introduce both students and citizens to the tangible and intangible heritage of the University of Bologna. Students contributed Instagram posts and videos for the Unicittà project.
