Regional Innovation Scheme: RIS

INCO-Piles locations and targets in accordance with EIT RM RIS Strategy

The EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (EIT RIS) is designed for EU Member States and H2020 Associated Countries in Europe who are modest and moderate innovators in some technological sectors, and where Innovation Communities have few or no partners. Activities consist in transferring good practice of the Knowledge Triangle Integration (Higher Education, Industry, Research) from the existing Partners Network to the RIS areas.

Regarding the specificities of EIT Raw Materials, the RIS areas include, among others: Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and the Mediterranean.

Most of the countries and regions in these two areas are endowed with primary and secondary deposits of metallic and mineral ores and residues, therefore high opportunities of knowledge transfer, technological innovation and sustainable explotation are expected, in line with the EU objectives.
